SCHOLARNET | European Research Networks
SCHOLARNET PROJECT | Three countries, three universities, one vision
SCHOLARNET (Building Scientific Capacity through Knowledge transfer, Exchange of Hands-on Practices, Linked Academic Research and Networking) is a 24-month long international project aimed at strengthening research excellence and narrowing the differences in terms of research potential between the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ Sofia University and renowned partners such as Universite de Versailles Saint-Quentin-En-Yvelines and Friedrich-Alexander-Universitaet Erlangen Nuernberg.
The main project objectives are related to building scientific capacity through knowledge transfer, exchange of hands-on practices, linked academic research and networking. The implementation of the project activities is expected to lead to more effective research opportunities in the field of economic and management studies – sustainable models for innovations in public services and increasing SME competitiveness, risk management of targeted markets, creating models for institutional convergence as a factor for economic development in new Member States (institutional sustainability), replicability of successful innovative instruments, etc.
For the very first time FEBA is implementing a project aimed at increasing research capacity to support the successful development of research and human capital and to help consolidate the university’s prestige and raise its profile. The goal of the SCHOLARNET Project is to consolidate FEBA’s full research capacity with the assistance of researchers from other universities who will help with the process of developing a comprehensive research strategy. The significant expansion of research capacity will be manifested through the increased number of high-quality innovative products, more funding for research projects, participation in prestigious research fora, etc.
One of the main project objectives is to turn the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ Sofia University into a national reference research centre in the field of economic and management studies. This will have a positive impact on the research environment and the achievement of research excellence will help transform the traditional research culture. Cooperation in the field of scientific research will intensify, the effectiveness and efficiency of scientific research will improve, sustainable research networks will be built; research publications will improve in terms of quality and quantity, and there will be an increase in research activity in different target initiatives. One of the main areas of focus is the professional development of young scholars: better career opportunities through the acquisition of new key competences and knowledge; opportunities to use scientific research and the functioning of industrial networks; access to international events.
