Behind the scenes at a startup: How FAU graduates Philipp and Daniel built CityHunters
On December 5th, Prof. Voigt and the Chair of Industrial Management had the pleasure of – once again – hosting Dr. Daniel Sekula from CityHunters for an inspiring guest lecture as part of our Innovation & Entrepreneurship module. CityHunters, a Nuremberg-based startup specializing in team-building events and city treasure hunting, was co-founded by Philipp and Daniel, both proud alumni of FAU. Their entrepreneurial journey began during their studies at FAU, with the pivotal “5-Euro Business” course serving as a launchpad for developing and testing their innovative business idea, which ultimately led to the founding of CityHunters.
During an engaging 60-minute keynote, Daniel shared the story of their entrepreneurial venture, shedding light on the significance of digital transformation and the necessity of continually adapting their business model. He detailed how CityHunters navigated the challenges of the Covid pandemic through smart decision-making, swift digitalization, and a focus on process innovation. The session wrapped up with practical advice for students considering entrepreneurship, followed by a lively Q&A segment.
We particularly want to thank Daniel for conducting this inspiring session and very much appreciate his insightful contributions. Our best wishes go to CityHunters for their future endeavors – see you soon @WiSo!
