Discussing AI and future Technologies at the Weltmarktführer Innovation Day 2024 in Erlangen
On September 18th, Prof. Voigt took the chance to join the highly interesting event “Weltmarktführer Innovation Day 2024” in Erlangen. While the world has now understood the importance of AI, this event looked at concrete business opportunities and use cases of this groundbreaking technology. In his introducing keynote, FAU’s president Prof. Dr. Joachim Hornegger emphasized the key role of the Metropolitan Region of Erlangen-Nuremberg and especially FAU as a hotspot for science and industry collaboration. In a following talk, Alex Blania, Founder and CEO of Tools for Humanity and FAU alumnus, discussed with Horst von Buttlar, Chief Editor of Wirtschaftswoche, how the developed “Orb” technology can be transformed into a successful business model. This interesting interview was only the opening to a full day of impulses and panels from academic and industry experts.
Prof. Voigt was happy to meet colleagues and friends like FAU’s Vice President Prof. Dr. Kathrin Möslein, Dr. Markus Ernst (Head of Innovation Management at DATEV eG), Dr. Rainer Seßner (CEO of Bayern Innovativ GmbH), and Sybille Barth (Head of Technology Transfer and Executive Education, FAU).
To sum up: A great day for FAU, the region of Erlangen-Nuremberg, and the German industry!
