Despite the current situation, the Chair of Industrial Management was able to offer the 31st seminar in cooperation with Prof. Dr. Heinrich v. Pierer. Twelve students from different bachelor and master degree programs got the opportunity to work on strategic questions and to examine VW, Deutsche Bank, Thyssenkrupp and RWE/E.ON on their strategy. In doing so, all groups showed that each industry faces challenges and is driven by new trends that are crucial for survival in the respective industry. In their final papers and presentations, the groups showed how VW can transform itself from an automotive manufacturer to a software company, what threats neobanks pose to Deutsche Bank, what options Thyssenkrupp has to continue to be a steel producer, and how RWE and E.ON are repositioning themselves in the electricity market.

Finally, the students were given the opportunity to discuss various questions with Prof. Dr. v. Pierer in the virtual room. Prof. Dr. Voigt and Oscar Pakos would like to thank Prof. Dr. v. Pierer and all the students for the exciting insights. For further information concerning the seminar please check the FAU WISO Blog here.
