Successful start into our “Innovation Insights” series 2019 with Dr. Timm Wagner, Senior Innovation Manager (Future Team adidas)
One of the Chair’s highlights in the summer term 2019 is the “Innovation Insights” series, in which guest speakers from different industries share their experiences in innovation management with our students.
On May 8th, the long-awaited kick-off of this series finally took place. Dr. Timm Wagner, member of the adidas Future Team and alumnus of the Chair of Industrial Management, presented adidas’ latest innovations and the sports brand’s take on innovation management in front of more than 300 bachelor and master students. The adidas Future Team, consisting of designers, engineers, and innovation managers, is responsible for developing disruptive innovations and new (digital) technologies for the whole company.
Among other topics, Dr. Timm Wagner talked about SPEEDFACTORY, a digitally automated, hyper-flexible shoe factory that can be placed anywhere in the world, as well as about FUTURECRAFT.LOOP, a 100% recyclable performance running shoe. Rounding up the presentation, many students used the opportunity to discuss and share their experiences with Dr. Wagner.
